At SoHo Candles, your safety and enjoyment are our top priority. Each of our candles is hand-poured using premium natural waxes, cotton wicks, and high-quality fragrance oils. To ensure a safe and long-lasting burn, please read and follow the safety guidelines below carefully.

🔥 Before Lighting

  • Always trim the wick to approximately 5mm (¼ inch) before each use to prevent soot and an uneven flame.

  • Remove any debris, dust, or matches from the wax surface.

  • Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, open windows, or vents.

  • Keep away from curtains, furniture, and other flammable materials.

✨ While Burning

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  • Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.

  • Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.

  • Always allow the melt pool to reach the edges of the container on the first burn to avoid tunnelling.

  • If the flame flickers, smokes, or becomes too high, extinguish the candle, trim the wick, and relight.

  • Avoid moving the candle while the wax is liquid or the glass is hot.

🌙 After Use

  • Extinguish the candle using a snuffer or gently dip the wick into the melted wax — never blow it out.

  • Allow the wax to cool and solidify completely before relighting or handling.

  • Stop burning the candle when 10mm (½ inch) of wax remains to prevent the glass from overheating or cracking.

⚠️ General Safety Information

  • Container may become hot during use; handle with care.

  • Candles are for indoor use only and not suitable for use in enclosed unventilated spaces.

  • Do not use water or other liquids to extinguish.

  • Always follow the CLP (Classification, Labelling & Packaging) regulations on the product label for specific fragrance safety details and allergens.

♻️ Aftercare & Disposal

  • Clean and reuse your glass jar once finished, or dispose of it responsibly.

  • Never pour melted wax down drains.

  • All packaging is recyclable where facilities exist.

Candle Care

How to enjoy your SoHo Candle to the fullest

Every SoHo candle is hand-poured with natural soy wax and premium fragrance oils to ensure a clean, even burn.

The First Burn

Let the wax melt evenly across the surface until it reaches the edges of the glass. This prevents tunnelling and ensures a consistent burn.

Trim the Wick

Before each use, trim the wick to around 5mm to prevent smoke and soot.

Burn Time

Burn for 2–4 hours at a time for the best performance. Avoid burning longer than 4 hours in a single session.

Safety

Always place on a heat-resistant surface, away from draughts and anything flammable. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

After Each Burn

Gently recentre the wick and, once cool, replace the lid (if applicable) to protect from dust and preserve scent.

When It’s Finished

Stop burning when about 1cm of wax remains. Clean the jar with warm water and repurpose it — our glasses make elegant holders for brushes or blooms.

Storage

Keep your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
